We live in a two bedroom half of a duplex. It is smaller than the place we came from so, of course, we have accumulated too much stuff. I have been engaged in the battle of getting rid of the excess stuff but it always seems there is more. As well, with both my husband and I crafting things right, left and centre we seem to have a lot of project bits throughout the house. So, after some thought I figure if my husband could make us a smaller TV stand, we could then move the couch against the wall and open up our living room so it becomes one big space with our kitchen table area. This is what it looked like before:
And this is what it looks like now (yes the hanging above the TV still needs to be moved):
Wouldn’t you say that is a BIG difference? I am so happy with it!
As for the TV stand my husband started with this pile of boards he salvaged from the fence he pulled down (before building a new one) at his sister’s and brother-in-law’s place.
Then he created this:
Isn’t he talented? This is the final product with the stain on it. I love, love, love it! We also created a space in the back of the house to put the old TV stand. He is going to raise it up so he can use it as a work bench area. Now the kitchen table it is mine to share with the girly and he can keep his project bits back there. Win. Win. Win.
